Trying to get back in the flow.

This year has been full of woe. Three trips to hospital for major operations. I'm slowly recovering my energy. I went out to try to revive my pot plants. The bigger Desert Roses survived. Some of the smaller ones died. I spent a couple of hours watering and moving out the pots with no plants. I will have to set more seeds to refill the empty pots. I have to relearn how things work. Things have changed over the past eighteen months. I tried to upload a photo. I must have to down size them. I have been doing a lot of crocheting of rugs. I had an over supply, which I made from wool left over from other projects. I bundled them up to take to the nursing home for the oldies. The staff were pleased to receive them. I have another one to take up when I go to visit a couple of my friends. Alice. A friend I used to take shopping and other places has moved into the home. She felt she no longer was able to care for herself, her home and garden. She moved in on the day of her 97th birt

Cleaning time.

These are a few scarves I made in between crocheting rugs for my family. I have finished ten and have sent them to my family. Everyone seems to love them. So far. The above three are gone to charity. I still have another one to go. Have taken some time out from crocheting to clean out all the "passed by dated" tins, and bottles, of unused stuff in the back shed. There isn't anything in my way. I usually let some of my friends use the shed to store their car and boats. At the moment. I can freely move around to dispose of unwanted things to make more room. I spent a couple of hours out there this morning. The wind has whipped so I've come inside. Anyway. I've had working in dust for now. I have uploaded some photos. I was to go one a bus trip today but the driver was sick. The last one. A young Magpie is enjoying a swing on the plastic. This lot of babies have been very mischievous. One has even attached a friendship with a Butcher Bird. Where

Rest over

Image
I have been applying the doctors orders on resting since my surgery. I'm back to walking without aids. Sleeping back upstairs in my favorite bed. Doing all my own work. Outside trying to get all the weeds from my gardens. Re-pot some plants. I don't know if they died from lack of attention. Or the birds pulled them out because I wasn't home to feed them. The wild birds that is. I found one out on the footpath. I put it in a pot and am praying I can save it. I have been busy crocheting during my breaks from work. I have finished another two and others partly done. The weather was muggy for a few weeks which made crochet not possible. My head has cleared so I am getting back into writing mode. I've been doing some research to see where I'd like to publish some of my stories. And have to dig out the one I had nearly finished before going to hospital. These are the last two I have finished. I have a few more to make before I have one for all members of my f

Year of Change

Image
This year is a time for me to heal. For a long time I have suffered with pain. Until I found a new doctor last year, I didn't know what caused all my suffering. I was told I needed to have both hips replaced and one knee. Well! The first operation has been done. My right hip. I'm resting at home. Not allowed to drive the car for another few weeks. I am still using crutches and having exercise at home. I was signed up to a Transition Care program where staff come out to the home to assist me in my recovery. Take me to doctor appointments; shopping and do cleaning. All of them are doing a wonderful job. I have also set myself on a mission to make rugs for my family. These are keeping me busy. I even took wool to hospital to continue on with the list. Three have been delivered to one grandson, granddaughter and daughter. Some have given me their color scheme. Others will have to take what arrives. I have some works in progress and others finished. At the moment, I have slo

80th Birthday

Image
Ruby has turned eighty. She is. Or should I say. Was. Part of our bus tripping gang. Ruby is lucky to be able to celebrate her birthday. Over the past couple of years, lightning struck the side of her house leaving a hole. A loss of power. She wanted to move from the beach to a retirement village. Once again disaster struck. A car smashed into the back of her car wiping it out. She decided time had come to make changes in her life. She is leaving the area to go live near family on the Sunshine Coast. We had a Birthday and Farewell get together on the same day. We will miss her. One the same day, Alice at the age of 95 was given a life member certificate as a member of the bus group. We all had a enjoyable meal and time with our departing friend.

Dangerous tree goes

Image
Neighbors have watched this tree with each approaching storm. Afraid it might fall on their homes. The way it swayed. And bent to the winds fierceness. The Magpie watched them cut down the tree. The pair usually nested there. Sat there to watch for me to open the shed door to swoop down for food. To watch for the postie to come deliver the mail. Stranger they know should not be in your yard. The job took two days to cut down and chip up the limbs as they sawed them off. At least everyone will feel safer with the predicted stormy weather to head our way.

Catching the sun

The warmer weather should arrive soon. Lizards are coming out to sun themselves. this was the first one. There are more scooting around the yard and sitting on the posts out of harms way. Luckily. I haven't struck any while I have been trying to catch up with the weeding which grew during the winter months. I have been slowly working on the garden beds when the back, hip, and weather permitting. I work until the pain comes. Take a break to crochet, write, or do computer work. With all jobs, I have learned to not keep going when the pain strikes. During the winter months I did a lot of crocheting to make woolen blankets for those in need. Most of the time the wool is supplied but I do buy some to be able to finish the project when the supply is low.                Mystery woman My Vegas. Vegas is a bright star. A Celestial body.
