Cruising on the river

We went for a three hour cruise on the Noosa River. The day was sunny. The water calm until the other boats sped past.

We watched a couple of boats go through the lock to reach their home.

The water was brown from recent runoff from the rain.

We seen some birds life.

We had a great time watching the scenery as we past.

Neighbors have watched this tree with each approaching storm. Afraid it might fall on their homes. The way it swayed. And bent to the winds fierceness. The Magpie watched them cut down the tree. The pair usually nested there. Sat there to watch for me to open the shed door to swoop down for food. To watch for the postie to come deliver the mail. Stranger they know should not be in your yard. The job took two days to cut down and chip up the limbs as they sawed them off. At least everyone will feel safer with the predicted stormy weather to head our way.

Vertigo

I have been slow lately at working, one because of the freezing weather, two, because my Vertigo and Tintus (Noises in the ears) have returned at the same time. It was a strange way that the both returned at the same time. Very frightening. It happened one night the brain didn't want to shut off because I'd been working on setting up my webs, writing a story for my writing class, all kept rattling around in the brain. I went to roll over from my warm spot to relieve some aching muscles, as I rolled my brain was telling me there was no bed there and if I kept going I'd fall over the edge of the world, a picture of stars and open space flashed through my head, there was a sensation of falling into nothingness. Squeezing my eyes tightly closed I rolled back to where I started with heart pumping hard and fast, took deep breaths to calm the sensations racing through the body while with my right arm I moved it over the mattress to make sure the rest of the bed was still there. ...

A story

In the middle of the cyclone we had awhile back, the birds sat on the fence in the pouring rain rather than sit in a swaying tree. The photo is taken at slow speed to catch the rain drops. Last week we were given a first page of work someone had intended to use in their novel. This was to test our editing skills. We had to read the piece then go by our gut reaction to say why we liked the story. Or didn't. Then we had to write the story in our own words on how we would have written the story. I can't put up the original piece to be able to compare changes because it wasn't my work. This is what I took from the story after I'd done some research. I don't believe this was done before writing the other story. I even had to change the names used to be able to upload. Elsa was born in a workhouse to a poor mother.
